This is a MILD protectant, for water-based products use Leucidal Complete, a stronger protectant. Leucidal Liquid is a natural protectant for DIY formulas, cosmetics, and lotion making derived from Radish Root Ferment. The radishes are fermented with a lactic acid bacteria called Leuconostoc kimchii. Leucidal Liquid or Radish Root has been shown to provide mild protection. Radish root is a great natural alternative to synthetic preservatives. It has a light scent, a pale yellow color, and is water-soluble. If you are a lotion-making hobbyist or making your own homemade beauty, cosmetics, or skincare products you still need to test your formulation to determine the exact percentage needed. This is a mild protectant and may not fully protect against all contaminants. Depending on your formulation, you may need to combine it with a preservative to fully protect your product.
